My mum has been a mortgage broker for 20 years. I grew up watching her work, client calls at dinner, paperwork on weekends, always on.
Start of 2026, I left school after a term of Year 11. I wanted to build things, and I wasn't going to learn how sitting in a classroom.
I started training as a broker under my mum while building software and running ads for brokers on the side. Pretty quickly, something became impossible to ignore.
She was brilliant at her job but a huge chunk of her day was just the inbox. The same questions, worded slightly differently, answered the same way, every single day.
It wasn't a people problem. It was a repetition problem and those are exactly the kind of problems software should solve.
So I built Drafty. I'm 17, and I'm from Hobart.
